Study try-outs: deeper immersion

A study try-out will give you a good overview of the course. You’ll follow part of the regular curriculum and, in most cases, will be paired with a student from the course. After this taster day, you’ll have a clear sense of the course,  the atmosphere, the workload and whether it’s a good fit for you. You can only take part in a study try-out if you are seriously debating taking this programme and have thoroughly looked into it. Various programmes offer study taster sessions, but the number of spots is limited and you must apply. Study try-outs are planned throughout the year.

Programme quality assurance

Student satisfaction and expert assessment speaks volumes about the quality of education. This may tip the scales when it comes to your course choice.

Expert judgments

Expert judgments are recorded in the programme accreditation. In the Netherlands, the independent Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) handles accreditation.

Student opinions

Each year, student satisfaction is gauged by the Nationale Studenten Enquête (NSE—National Student Survey). This is a national survey carried out among students in higher education by the independent Studiekeuze123. ArtEZ scores high every year, especially with regard to student satisfaction in regard to the lecturers, the course content and the on-site atmosphere. Studies that score cum laude may carry the predicate Top Program.

Keuzegids for Higher Education

The Keuzegids for Higher Education is published annually. It compares programmes across the Netherlands and is based on opinions from the NSE and from accreditation experts. Each year, the Keuzegids indicates the ‘top programmes’. ArtEZ has many of these! Every evaluation states whether the course is considered a top course according to the criteria.
